Open Road Guide Sponsorship Flyers

LAYOUT DESIGN | PRODUCTION DESIGN | MARKETING | ADVERTISING

On September of 2025, I was tasked to conceptualize some designs of the new Open Road Guide Sponsorship Flyers. These were created using Adobe Illustrator and InDesign.

The Challenge

Advertisers Discouraged by High Advertising Prices

The CEO of Open Road Publishing had difficulty in securing new sales contracts with local businesses throughout the Alaska Highway and Alaska areas. He noted to the Director of Marketing that the pricing for all of the advertising options are too steep for these small businesses.

Some of the Executives noted that the past Sales Flyers for the Open Road Guide have been very overwhelming and complex. They suggested to offer a more simpler advertising option for potential advertisers to help with the lack of sales issue.

And so, the CEO and Open Road Publishing Directors decided on the Sponsorship option. I was then tasked to create Sales Flyers that easily illustrate the Sponsorship advertising options, while using “a lot of color” to help make the flyers “pop”.

The Solution

3 Concept Designs of the Sponsorship Flyers

The Director of Marketing suggested that in these flyers, the most prominent image should be a mockup of the Local Alphabetical section (a section that lists all of the local businesses in an area). The mockup should include regular listings, bold listings, a 2HS, a 3HS and a 4HS (different sized more decorative business listings).

The overall goal of these flyers is to illustrate the different types of advertising options and what they’d look like in the Local Alphabetical section. In addition, the Sales team would like our advertisers to easily scan through the pricing for each advertising option. In terms of business goals, the CEO wants the flyers to entice more advertisers to advertise in the upcoming edition of the Open Road Guide with the lower listed prices.

At the time of this case study, I’m waiting for some feedback and/or approval from the CEO on these flyers.
